Privacy Policy

Last updated September 13, 2026. This policy covers The Knowledge Observatory on the web (observatory.paperiq.ai) and the iPhone app.

Who we are

The Knowledge Observatory is operated by Pomsoft LLC (“we”). Contact: info@pomsoft.net · pomsoft.net.

What we collect

• Account. Email address, and name if you sign in with Apple or Google. Email/password accounts store a hashed password.
• Your books. Topics, titles, outlines, prose, illustrations, citations, and reading position so we can write and show your library.
• Purchases. Apple In-App Purchase product IDs and transaction receipts so we can grant book credits. Apple processes payment. We do not see your full card number.
• Session. A signed-in session token on your device so you stay logged in.

How we use it

We use this information to run the product: sign-in, write and store books, grant credits, and provide support. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.

Processors we rely on

To research and write a book we send your topic and related prompts to search and language-model providers (for example web search and LLM APIs). Sign in with Apple or Google is handled by those companies. Hosting is on our servers. We share only what is needed to provide the service.

Retention

We keep your account and books until you delete them, or until we close the account for abuse or legal reasons. Signed-in users can delete their account in the iPhone app: Your books → ⋯ → Delete account. That permanently removes the account, sessions, unused credits, and books that account created. You can also email info@pomsoft.net.

Children

The Knowledge Observatory is for adults writing nonfiction. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

You can use a guest library of public books without creating an account. Signed-in users can delete their account in the iPhone app (Your books → ⋯ → Delete account) or email info@pomsoft.net to request a copy or deletion of their data.

Changes

We will post updates on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
